USAID – Diversity and Inclusion Scholarship Program (DISP) Scholarship Application for Enrolled Students in Regional

The purpose of DISP is to support current and future community leaders in Myanmar (Burma), particularly those from vulnerable groups, in gaining access to quality higher education (HE) learning opportunities. This is achieved through regional and local scholarships, grants under contract, and various higher education opportunities offered through multimodalities to strengthen the HE landscape. The Activity is open to all individuals, regardless of ethnicity or cultural identity. Participants earn higher education degrees, receive professional certifications, and/or access contextualized HE curricula through short- and long-term training in Burma and selected USAID-presence countries in the Asia region (Cambodia, India, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Thailand). The Activity also assists students in Myanmar or regional countries in accessing HE opportunities through in-person and online formats. DISP only provides support for in-person regional scholarships in the five countries mentioned above.

DISP has limited funds available to support students who are already enrolled in a higher education institution outside of Myanmar. Decisions will be made based on the same criteria, and in a similar process, as used in the open competition, where DISP is seeking to support a diverse group of scholars with a proven dedication to social change and leadership. Support for enrolled scholars is not comprehensive and may be used to cover some portion of tuition fees or other academic or living expenses, to be determined on a case-by-case basis. Once the funds for enrolled scholars are exhausted, there will be no further such support, and the application form will be closed. Decisions are made on a rolling basis.
