Eligibility

1. Are Myanmar students who are currently not residing in Myanmar eligible to apply? 

If you are from Myanmar but residing in an immediate neighboring country, you are still eligible. 

2. Are individuals with unfinished higher education programs in Myanmar eligible to apply?

Yes. If you have high school completion record OR GED scores of 145 in each category, you are eligible to apply for an associate degree program. If you have more than first year transcripts, you can submit all the transcripts for all years completed.

3. Am I eligible to apply for associate degree without academic transcripts from the university?  

Yes, you have to provide high school completion record OR GED scores of 145 in each category.

4. Am I eligible to apply for Master’s Degree without academic transcripts and Degree Completion Certificates from the university?

No, you have to provide transcripts for all years you attended and Bachelor’s Degree completion certificates for on campus master’s programs. For online master’s, there is more flexibility.

6. Am I eligible if I don’t have a national registration card (NRC)?

Yes, you can apply to online programs without a national registration card (NRC). 

7. Can I apply without an English Language Proficiency Certification?

You do not need to have English Language Proficiency Certification at the time of application. 

8. Will my chance of getting in be affected if my GPA is lower than 3, even though I have a lot of community experience?

You are still eligible, and if you have strong relevant work/community experience, you still have a chance of being selected. 

9. Am I eligible to apply for the Development and Inclusive Scholarship Program if my bachelor’s degree is disrupted? 

Yes, if you have high school completion record OR GED scores of 145 in each category.

10. Can I still apply for the Development and Inclusive Scholarship Program if I do not have a valid passport?

Yes, you can apply to online programs without a valid passport. If you are applying for an online program, you do not need a passport. If you are applying for an on-campus program, you will need to get a valid passport if you are selected. Applicants are advised to start the passport application/renewal process as soon as possible.

11. Can I apply for the Development and Inclusive Scholarship Program without any professional work experience? 

You need 1 year (cumulative total 1,400 hours) of work experience or voluntary work to be eligible for a scholarship.

12. Am I eligible to apply for a Development and Inclusive Scholarship Program if I already have a Master’s Degree? 

Yes, if your master’s degree is from a Myanmar institution. However, priority will be given to the applicants who do not have master’s degree.

13. Am I eligible to apply if I am currently studying at the university?

Yes, if you are studying in Myanmar. You are not eligible if you are currently enolled in the university outside of Myanmar.
